192.168.11.1 is the settings page of Buffalo AirStation routers. Which login it wants depends on one thing: whether your router came with a setup card. If it did, the username is admin. If it did not, Buffalo says the username is root with no password at all.

Buffalo logins
| Router | Username | Password |
|---|---|---|
| AirStation with a setup card | admin |
password, or the one on the setup card |
| AirStation without a setup card | root |
None: leave it blank |
The settings password is not the Wi-Fi key, even though both are on the same card. Buffalo’s own help page makes the same point. The full list, model by model, is on the Buffalo page.
The password is refused
Someone changed it, and the card only ever shows the original. The way back is a reset, which puts every setting back to factory, the Wi-Fi name and key included.
On the WXR-1900DHP, Buffalo’s manual says to hold the reset button underneath, with the router switched on, until the power light starts blinking, about 3 seconds. Other AirStations are similar, but the button and the time vary, so check the manual for your model if that does nothing. Then log in with the card details, or root and a blank password on an older unit. How to find your router password has the options to try first.
192.168.11.1 will not open
- The AirStation is in access point or bridge mode. The WXR-1900DHP manual gives 192.168.11.100 for that mode, and some setups take an address from your main router instead. Look for it in the main router’s list of devices.
- The address was changed. Buffalo says to use its AirStation setup tool to find the settings page when the address is no longer 192.168.11.1. The default gateway of a connected device also shows the router’s current address:
ipconfigon Windows, or Settings, Wi-Fi and the (i) on an iPhone. - You are on the guest network or another router’s Wi-Fi. Join the AirStation’s own network.
For the less obvious causes, see why the router page will not load when the internet works fine.
