On most EE equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a EE model we are missing? Add it.

About EE

EE supplies Smart Hub routers with its home broadband, including the Smart Hub 7 Pro, 7 Plus and 6 Plus.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most EE units answers at http://192.168.1.254. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

The admin password for Hub Manager is on the card on the back of the hub. The same card carries the Wi-Fi name and password, which are different.

Where EE prints the admin password

Admin password is printed on the card on the back of the hub. It is not the Wi-Fi password, even when both are on the same label.Drawn from EE’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

Forgotten the admin password

EE says to follow the forgotten-password steps inside Hub Manager itself. You can also change the admin password in the EE app. If neither works, a factory reset brings back the one on the card.

If the EE password has already been changed

Press the Factory Reset button on the back for 5 seconds, or 20 seconds if it is a pinhole (use a paperclip). It has worked when the lights turn aqua or blue, which can take up to 5 minutes; the Wi-Fi name and password go back to the card.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
