On most PLDT equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card, and it is a different password from the Wi-Fi key. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a PLDT model we are missing? Add it.

About PLDT

PLDT is the Philippines’ largest fixed-line and fibre broadband provider, and supplies a configured modem-router with its Home Fibr service.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most PLDT units answers at http://192.168.1.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

PLDT’s help page gives admin and 1234 for the first login at https://192.168.1.1, after which the modem asks you to set your own username and password. If that pair is refused, someone has already changed it, and a reset brings it back.

If the PLDT password has already been changed

There is a recessed reset button on the back or underneath that needs a straightened paperclip. Hold it in for thirty seconds with the unit powered on. Let go when the lights change pattern, and give it a couple of minutes to come back up.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
