BT Default Router Passwords
This page lists 5 confirmed default credentials for BT equipment, covering 5 models.
Entries are reachable over http. All of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

About BT
BT supplies its own Smart Hub and, on older lines, Home Hub routers with its broadband. The BT records here run across the Smart line.
Reaching the login page
The admin page on most BT units answers at http://192.168.1.254, or at bthomehub.home if the router is handling your DNS. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.
BT’s Hub Manager asks only for an admin password, not a username. It is printed on the pull-out Hub settings card on the back of the hub, and it is not the Wi-Fi password printed on the same card.
What the BT defaults look like
None of them ask for a username; the field is left empty. On 5 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label. All of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.
Where BT prints the admin password
BT hub password not working
The admin password is case-sensitive and between 5 and 20 characters. If it is refused, someone has probably changed it from the one on the card. What happens next depends on the hub.
Smart Hub 2 and later: there is no password override. Use the pinhole reset on the back, which restores the card password and every other original setting.
Smart Hub, Home Hub 5 and Home Hub 4: choose Password Override on the password screen, then hold the WPS button until the light flashes blue (on the Home Hub 5 and 4 it is on top, for about 20 seconds). You then have two minutes to set a new password; the Home Hubs also ask for the Wi-Fi key and the serial number from the label under the base.
Changing the admin password
In Hub Manager go to Advanced Settings, then System. The first time Hub Manager opens on a new hub it asks you to set a new admin password anyway. On the Smart Hub 3 you may see a message about switching to HTTPS; BT says to follow the prompts.
Other UK broadband providers
If the BT password has already been changed
On the Smart Hub 2 and later, BT’s answer to a forgotten admin password is the pinhole reset button on the back, which puts back every original setting, passwords included.
The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
