Rogers Default Modem Passwords

This page lists 7 confirmed default credentials for Rogers equipment, covering 7 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is cusadmin with password.

Entries are reachable over http. All of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

These are the logins Rogers itself publishes. If the password has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns the device to the default above. Know a Rogers model we are missing? Add it.

About Rogers

Rogers supplies Xfinity-based Ignite gateways, and on older plans Hitron, Cisco and SMC cable modems. The Rogers records here run across the Hitron line.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Rogers units answers at http://10.0.0.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

Ignite (Rogers Xfinity) gateways sign in at https://10.0.0.1 with the username admin and the unique code on the bottom label, and ask you to set a new password the first time. Older Rogers modems use 192.168.0.1 with the username cusadmin.

What the Rogers defaults look like

cusadmin is the username on 6 of the 7 entries. Where one is set, password comes up most often, on 6 entries. All of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Older Rogers modems: cusadmin

On the Hitron CGN3, CGN2 and CODA, the Cisco DPC3825 and the SMC D3GN, Rogers gives the username cusadmin and the password password. If you set the modem up with Easy Connect, your original Easy Connect Wi-Fi password also works.

Changing Wi-Fi without the app

The Rogers Xfinity app is the main way to manage an Ignite gateway, but the browser page at https://10.0.0.1 offers the same Wi-Fi settings once you have signed in. Your browser will warn about the certificate; Rogers says to continue.

If the Rogers password has already been changed

Gen 2 and Gen 3 gateways: hold the WPS button on the back, above the phone ports, for at least 30 seconds; the top light flashes green quickly. Hitron CGN3: hold the Reset button on the back for 10 seconds.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
