Plusnet Default Router Passwords

This page lists 2 confirmed default credentials for Plusnet equipment, covering 2 models.

Entries are reachable over http. All of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

On most Plusnet equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card, and it is a different password from the Wi-Fi key. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Plusnet model we are missing? Add it.

About Plusnet

Plusnet supplies the Hub One and Hub Two with its broadband.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Plusnet units answers at http://192.168.1.254. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

The hub admin password is only needed to change settings. On the Hub Two it is on the back of the hub or on the password sticker Plusnet sent; on the Hub One it is on the card stored on the back.

What the Plusnet defaults look like

None of them ask for a username; the field is left empty. On 2 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label. All of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Where Plusnet prints the admin password

Admin password is printed on the back of the hub, or on the password sticker Plusnet sent. It is not the Wi-Fi password, even when both are on the same label.Drawn from Plusnet’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

If the Plusnet password has already been changed

Press the reset pinhole on the back with something pointed for 20 seconds and let go when the front light turns green. The Hub Two is ready when it turns blue.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
