UK broadband router logins

Every UK broadband provider prints the router’s admin password on the router itself, on a label or a pull-out card. It is not the Wi-Fi password printed next to it, and it is not something you can look up as a shared default. This page tells you where it is on each provider’s hub and which address to type into the browser.

Look first
The card or sticker on the back or base of the hub. UK providers print the admin password on each hub rather than using one shared default.
Two passwords
The admin password opens the settings. The Wi-Fi password joins the network. They sit on the same card and are easy to mix up.
Your provider
Choose it below. Its page has the address to type and the login for each hub model.
Refused?
It has been changed. A reset puts back the printed one, and wipes your settings with it.

Choose your provider

Each provider has its own page with the login for every model we have confirmed, where the password is printed, and how to reset it.

The printed password does not work

Then someone has changed it since the hub was set up. The reset button, usually a pinhole on the back, returns the admin password to the printed one; hold it in with a paperclip while the hub is on, for the time given on the provider’s page. A reset also restores the printed Wi-Fi name and password and removes anything you set up, such as port forwards. Older BT hubs have a gentler option, a password override using the WPS button, described on the BT page.

If you are trying to join the Wi-Fi rather than change settings, you need the other password. Finding your Wi-Fi password covers reading it from the hub, from a device that is already connected, or from the router.

Providers not listed yet

Shell Energy Broadband customers have moved to TalkTalk, so use the TalkTalk page. Cuckoo and Gigaclear routers are set up in an app rather than a browser. Glide runs managed Wi-Fi for student and residential buildings: residents get a personal Wi-Fi password through their Glide account, and Glide does not publish a router login. Trooli, Lit Fibre and Utility Warehouse are missing because we could not confirm their logins from their own pages, and we do not publish a login we cannot confirm.

For a router you bought yourself, look it up by maker in the full list of manufacturers.
