Hyperoptic Default Router Passwords

This page lists 5 confirmed default credentials for Hyperoptic equipment, covering 5 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is admin with the password printed on that unit’s own label.

Entries are reachable over http and https. 4 of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

On most Hyperoptic equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Hyperoptic model we are missing? Add it.

About Hyperoptic

Hyperoptic is a UK full-fibre provider that has supplied Zyxel, Nokia, ZTE and Tilgin routers.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Hyperoptic units answers at http://192.168.1.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

Every Hyperoptic router listed here uses the username admin, with a password unique to the unit on its label or Wi-Fi card.

What the Hyperoptic defaults look like

Every entry uses the username admin. On 5 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label. 4 of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Where Hyperoptic prints the admin password

Admin password is printed on the back of the Wi-Fi details card or on the router label (the username is admin). It is not the Wi-Fi password, even when both are on the same label.Drawn from Hyperoptic’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

If the Hyperoptic password has already been changed

Push a pin or paperclip into the reset hole for 15 seconds.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
