Most Fido equipment has no factory admin password: you create one the first time you set it up. If it has been forgotten, a reset takes the device back to that first-time setup. Know a Fido model we are missing? Add it.

About Fido

Fido, part of Rogers, supplies a cable modem with its home internet plans.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Fido units answers at http://192.168.0.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

The username is cusadmin and the password is the Wi-Fi password you created when you set the modem up. Your browser will warn about the certificate on https://192.168.0.1.

If the Fido password has already been changed

Hold a paperclip in the small hole on the back for 10 seconds. The Wi-Fi names and passwords go back to those printed on the label, and you set the modem up again.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
