Tangerine Default Modem Passwords

This page lists 4 confirmed default credentials for Tangerine equipment, covering 4 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is admin with the password printed on that unit’s own label.

Entries are reachable over http. All of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

On most Tangerine equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Tangerine model we are missing? Add it.

About Tangerine

Tangerine supplies NetComm mesh modems, and has supplied the FRITZ!Box 7530. The Tangerine records here run across the NetComm line.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Tangerine units answers at http://192.168.20.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

The NetComm NF20MESH and NF18MESH use 192.168.20.1 with the login printed on the label. The FRITZ!Box 7530 uses http://fritz.box and the password at the bottom of its sticker.

What the Tangerine defaults look like

admin is the username on 3 of the 4 entries. On 3 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label. All of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Where Tangerine prints the admin password

Username and Password is printed on the label on the bottom of the NF20MESH. The Wi-Fi details are on a separate Wi-Fi Security Card.Drawn from Tangerine’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

If the Tangerine password has already been changed

There is a recessed reset button on the back or underneath that needs a straightened paperclip. Hold it in for thirty seconds with the unit powered on. Let go when the lights change pattern, and give it a couple of minutes to come back up.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
