Verizon Default Router Passwords

This page lists 6 confirmed default credentials for Verizon equipment, covering 6 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is admin with the password printed on that unit’s own label.

Entries are reachable over http and https. 3 of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

On most Verizon equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Verizon model we are missing? Add it.

About Verizon

Verizon supplies routers for Fios fibre and gateways for its 5G and LTE Home Internet service.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Verizon units answers at http://192.168.1.1, or at mynetworksettings.com if the router is handling your DNS. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

Every Verizon router and gateway listed here has its own admin password printed on its label. The address depends on the model: older Fios routers answer on myfiosgateway.com, newer ones and the Home Internet gateways on mynetworksettings.com.

What the Verizon defaults look like

admin is the username on 2 of the 6 entries. 4 of them ask for no username at all. On 6 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label.

3 of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Where Verizon prints the admin password

Admin or Network Settings password is printed on the label on the router (the side of the Quantum Gateway, the rear of the CR1000A, the bottom of the 5G gateways). It is not the Wi-Fi password, even when both are on the same label.Drawn from Verizon’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

Which address to use

Fios Quantum Gateway and Fios Router: myfiosgateway.com or 192.168.1.1. Verizon Router CR1000A: mynetworksettings.com or https://192.168.1.1. 5G and LTE Home Internet gateways ASK-NCQ1338: 192.168.0.1; WNC-CR200A and ARC-XCI55AX: 192.168.1.1. The 5G Internet Gateway LVSKIHP answers on http://my.router.

The browser says the page is not safe

Verizon’s newer routers use a certificate your browser does not recognise, so it shows a privacy warning. Verizon’s instruction is to choose Advanced and then Proceed; the page is on your own network.

Changing the admin password

On the 5G and LTE gateways it is under Advanced, then System, then System Settings. The LVSKIHP sign-in page has a Forgot Admin Password link that uses the security question you set.

Verizon firmware and known issues

Verizon publishes no release notes for its routers. The versions below are the ones it lists on its open source software page. The dates are those of the published files, not release dates. Verizon open source software page

If the Verizon password has already been changed

On the Fios Quantum Gateway, hold the red reset button on the back with a paperclip for 15 seconds; that restores the username and password on the side label and removes your custom settings.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
