Maxis Default Router Passwords

This page lists 2 confirmed default credentials for Maxis equipment, covering 2 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is administrator with the password printed on that unit’s own label.

Entries are reachable over http. All of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

On most Maxis equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Maxis model we are missing? Add it.

About Maxis

Maxis supplies its own routers and EasyMesh Wi-Fi 6 units with Maxis Fibre.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Maxis units answers at http://192.168.1.254. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

Maxis routers sign in with the username administrator. The password is the router’s serial number, printed on the label on the bottom.

What the Maxis defaults look like

Every entry uses the username administrator. On 2 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label. All of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Where Maxis prints the admin password

Serial Number is printed on the bottom label, as the serial number. It is not the Wi-Fi password, even when both are on the same label.Drawn from Maxis’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

If the Maxis password has already been changed

EasyMesh AR2140: hold the reset button on the back for more than 8 seconds with a clip.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
