Hathway Default Modem Passwords

This page lists 3 confirmed default credentials for Hathway equipment, covering 3 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is Admin with the password printed on that unit’s own label.

Entries are reachable over http. All of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

On most Hathway equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Hathway model we are missing? Add it.

About Hathway

Hathway supplies ZTE and Genexis fibre ONTs, and D-Link routers on older connections.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Hathway units answers at http://192.168.1.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

The username is Admin. On the ZTE and Genexis ONTs the password is the MAC ID printed on the back of the device, 12 characters with no colons. D-Link routers use 192.168.0.1.

What the Hathway defaults look like

Every entry uses the username Admin. On 3 entries the password is unique to each unit and printed on its label. All of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

Where Hathway prints the admin password

MAC ID is printed on the back of the ONT, as the MAC ID. Type the 12 characters without colons or dashes.Drawn from Hathway’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

If the Hathway password has already been changed

ZTE ONT: press the Reset button with a pointed object for 10 seconds.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
