On most Airtel equipment the admin password is printed on the device itself, on its label or settings card. If it has been changed and you cannot recall it, a reset returns it to the printed one. Know a Airtel model we are missing? Add it.

About Airtel

Airtel supplies Xstream Fiber routers with its home broadband in India.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Airtel units answers at http://192.168.1.1. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

Airtel prints the router’s IP address, username and password on the back of the router. Most Airtel routers answer on 192.168.1.1.

Where Airtel prints the admin password

Username and Password is printed on the back of the Airtel router. It is not the Wi-Fi password, even when both are on the same label.Drawn from Airtel’s own description. The real label looks different and carries other details.

If the Airtel password has already been changed

Airtel’s general advice is to hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then wait 30 seconds for the router to restart.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
