Bosch Default DVR Passwords

This page lists 15 confirmed default credentials for Bosch equipment, covering 15 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is BVRAdmin with WSS4Bosch.

Entries are reachable over console, http and https. 3 of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

These are factory default credentials, not the password printed on the sticker under your router. If yours has been changed and you cannot recall it, a 30-second reset button hold returns the device to the defaults above. Know a Bosch model we are missing? Add it.

About Bosch

The Bosch records here run across the Divar and Inteox lines. The entries are logged as digital video recorders and CCTV cameras and recorders. They cover more than one level of access — admin, read-only and user.

Reaching the login page

Point a browser at whatever your computer reports as its default gateway. On Windows that is the Default Gateway line from ipconfig; on macOS, Network settings shows it under the active connection.

What the Bosch defaults look like

BVRAdmin is the username on 8 of the 15 entries. 3 of them shipped with no password at all. Where one is set, WSS4Bosch comes up most often, on 6 entries.

3 of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

If the Bosch password has already been changed

Cameras and recorders rarely have an accessible reset button. On a camera it is usually a small switch on the pigtail or under the dome that has to be held while power is applied. On a recorder the reset is normally a jumper or a button on the mainboard, which means opening the case. Several manufacturers will also generate a one-time unlock code from the device serial number and the current date if you contact their support with proof of ownership.

A reset on a recorder wipes the camera list, the recording schedule and the network settings, though it leaves the footage on the disks alone. Write down the IP addresses of the cameras first, because re-adding them one at a time is the slow part.
