Siemens Default Router Passwords

This page lists 16 confirmed default credentials for Siemens equipment, covering 10 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is admin with admin.

Entries are reachable over console, multi and http. 3 of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

These are factory default credentials, not the password printed on the sticker under your router. If yours has been changed and you cannot recall it, a 30-second reset button hold returns the device to the defaults above. Know a Siemens model we are missing? Add it.

About Siemens

Siemens supplied the HiPath and ROLM telephony platforms alongside DSL and industrial equipment.

Reaching the login page

Point a browser at whatever your computer reports as its default gateway. On Windows that is the Default Gateway line from ipconfig; on macOS, Network settings shows it under the active connection.

What the Siemens defaults look like

admin is the username on 4 of the 16 entries. 4 of them ask for no username at all. 3 of them shipped with no password at all.

Where one is set, admin comes up most often, on 2 entries. There are 10 different passwords across the Siemens set, so check your exact model rather than assuming. 3 of them are reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

If the Siemens password has already been changed

There is a recessed reset button on the back or underneath that needs a straightened paperclip. Hold it in for thirty seconds with the unit powered on. Let go when the lights change pattern, and give it a couple of minutes to come back up.

The catch with an ISP-supplied unit is that a reset also clears the broadband credentials, and on some lines the router will not reconnect until those are re-entered. Find them before you press anything, or be ready to ring the provider.
