Dahua Default Passwords

This page lists 4 confirmed default credentials for Dahua equipment, covering 4 models. The pairing you are most likely to need is admin with admin.

Entries are reachable over multi and http. 1 of these entries use a protocol that sends the password in clear text, so use them on a trusted network and change the password once you are in.

These are factory default credentials, not the password printed on the sticker under your router. If yours has been changed and you cannot recall it, a 30-second reset button hold returns the device to the defaults above. Know a Dahua model we are missing? Add it.

About Dahua

Dahua builds IP cameras, NVRs and thermal imaging equipment.

Reaching the login page

The admin page on most Dahua units answers at http://192.168.1.108. If that address does not load, the router is whatever your computer lists as its default gateway — ipconfig on Windows or ipconfig getoption en0 router on a Mac will tell you.

Newer firmware requires activation with a password of your own before the camera will stream.

What the Dahua defaults look like

Every entry uses the username admin. Where one is set, admin comes up most often, on 2 entries. One of them is reached over a protocol that puts the password on the wire in clear text, so work from a machine on the same wired network rather than across the internet, and change the password once you are in.

If the Dahua password has already been changed

Cameras and recorders rarely have an accessible reset button. On a camera it is usually a small switch on the pigtail or under the dome that has to be held while power is applied. On a recorder the reset is normally a jumper or a button on the mainboard, which means opening the case. Several manufacturers will also generate a one-time unlock code from the device serial number and the current date if you contact their support with proof of ownership.

A reset on a recorder wipes the camera list, the recording schedule and the network settings, though it leaves the footage on the disks alone. Write down the IP addresses of the cameras first, because re-adding them one at a time is the slow part.
